I was asked to write about touch by my Loose Bloggers Consortium mateys. (You’ll find them by scrolling down the right hand side of the screen and clicking on their links..)
Touch – it’s wonderful. Not the “soft touch” (easy to trick), not the “touched” (bit bonkers), not even the “touche pas à mon pote” (hands off my pal) slogan from the French organisation SOS Racisme.
But to me – dear reader… (I’m just changing into my smoking jacket and cravat, lighting the fire and preparing my pipe. There. Ready.) As I was saying, to me, touch is all about you, wherever you are in the world. (Except China – not many readers showing up as from China.) As the woman said, I’m just touched by your presence here/dear.
PS: A Christmas joke.
Darth Vader to Luke Skywalker: Luke… Luke… I know what your getting for Christmas…#
Luke: No way. That’s not possible.
Dart Vader: Luke… Luke… I do know what your getting for Christmas.
Luke: That’s ridiculous. Everything is securely wrapped up.
Darth: Luke… I have felt your presents.
(Geddit? Groan.)
Like the Christmas joke…
Blessings ~ Maxi
I like to feel your presents too! And that music is music to my ears.
Oi hands off me parcels!
i feel your blog
hee hee – that tickles.
Good joke! My father had a ritual of feeling the presents under the tree in the days leading up to the big one.. He would lift each one, feel it, squeeze it, shake it and all but open it. I soon learned to camouflage the item by adding extra cardboard to change the shape, cotton wool – it was the days before bubble wrap, and once I added a small tin in there, with a spoonful of dry barley in it to provide sound effects!
Years later I played the same game with Elly! Opening presents took an age, but it was fun.
I like your style.
Touche!
Ha ha.
Ha ha….good one! 🙂 I’ll have to remember to tell that joke to my daughter who always tries to figure out what her presents are. 🙂
Now you have one reader from China since I finally got with the program and added your blog to my follow list. 🙂
Oh no – I’m spreading bad habits internationally.
In touch; letter, phone, email, skype great for staying in touch, and then all those other electronic developments that I have not yet succumbed to but I just could not last out the full 2+ minutes of the Blondie video.
Happy Christmas all or Voici un voeu chaleureux pour des fetes joyeuses et belles.
GROAN!!! lol 😉 😀
GROAN is right! LOL
I do wish I had the Force to use to open some of the packages in those clamshells, though!
Maxi, 29, Woflie and Fossil – sorry for the groans. Ta for dropping by.
Hi paul, a friend sent me this one.. I thought it might make you laugh, Chris
Very good – and then there’s the satirical sign off right at the end – funded by various Norwegian organisations.
Not laugh so much as smile widely, what an ingenious humorous thought.
Also of course: kicked into touch, don’t touch me till I’m yours, just a touch, touching up. A word of many meanings.
What always touches me emotionally is unexpected acts of generosity or kindness. Or anything surprisingly beautiful or delicate.
Me too.
