You gotta have a bit of an ego to get ahead, right? To convince yourself that your art is important to others… So what better example to follow than the composers Chopin and Liszt.
Chopin and Liszt come courtesy of the Hark, a vagrant blog. I bought the book the other day. It’s great. The topic, ego, was set by the Loose Bloggers Consortium. It’s all them, them, them with Ramana, Delirious, gaelikaa, Grannymar, Maxi, Maria SF, Padmum, Rohit,Shackman, The Old Fossil and Will – when it should be me, me, me, whoah ha ha ha.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: You may notice a new image under my horse’s head in the top right hand corner. It’s a big F. Please click on it and follow the link. I’ll tell you more about it soon.

Perhaps the Consortium might like to indulge themseves here:

You were way ahead of the rest of us.
Póló is way ahead of the posse!
Plenty of Egos on that Choppin list above! 😉
Makes me glad of my crooked fingers – no playing in a monastery garden for me! 😆
That reminds me – in my (still to be edited into a shorter form) long book, I have Mendelssohn in a convent.
Editing is sometimes harder than writing.
Now, Mendelssohn in a convent…. the mind boggles!
Ah yes – competing egos – nothing much has changed over the years in that regard
You show me yours and….
Stretch a point and you have a similar but more subtle scene unfolding.
If I had to choose, it would be Sinead every time. There is no other Troy, for me to burn – ah.
I think we could switch out the names of this cartoon for that of some modern politicians I know…. just sayin. 😛 lol
True – but name names. The big hair looks like it would suit Boris.
An ego the size of a planet is a “must” these days if you want to get beyond the latest sky high brick wall 🙂
And then you need satellites to orbit round you.
Big egos everywhere you look. Some people are so full of themselves they’re about to explode.
Just one more wafer thin mint…

Chopin and Liszt. They knew each other?
Apparently they were frenemies. http://www.radiochopin.org/episodes/item/526-radio-chopin-episode-67-etudes-op-10-nos-4-6-10
You are getting your comic characters mixed up; Big (not enormous) Ego was a character, an ostrich I think, in the Beano or Dandy about half a century ago.
The Dandy apparently – according to this http://able2know.org/topic/221516-1
I actually laughed at all of those.
Great article! We are linking to this particularly great article on our website.
Keep up the good writing.
