I enjoyed the history of the gestation of this song. I think that it is worthy of its place among the great Christmas songs along with the traditional carols and White Christmas. It emphasizes the side of Christmas that the Simon Community sees, that scale from destitution and hopelessness and then through redemption to rehabilitation. Yet we still continue to exchange rubbish and tat.
